I haven’t done a Things I Love Thursday in a while… Life has been a little too busy for me to just sit and browse for things :) But, I was looking for a cute toe-up sock pattern this morning, and came across this adorable color work pattern, Nightingale, that several people had used to create a variety of projects! I love the idea of using the chart for a cardigan, it’s perfect! I’m pretty tempted to buy the pattern and just hold on to it for when I learn more color work…
For this edition, I chose things that have been sitting in my queue, under the ‘Home Decor’ section…
Flagg Court Afghan - I’m not sure if I’ll ever have the patience to knit such a large blanket, but maybe one day I’ll take leave of all my senses, and start on this one! And while I’m not a huge fan of orange, I am really loving the colors the sample was knit with.
Aran Leaf Pillow - On the other hand, I’m sure I could knock out this lovely pillow in a few days! I love the texture throughout the front, and those bobbles!! Be still my beating heart, we’ll make some cute bobbles soon…
Windowpane French Press Cozy - I don’t think my French press really needs a cozy, but I’m still really tempted to knit one of these up for it, mostly so I can do some more mosaic knitting, wrapped up in a nice, instant-gratification project.
Vintage Rabbit - Some people may say that stuffed animals are not home decor… But I say otherwise! This adorable rabbit plush is styled after the classic Velveteen Rabbit, a favorite story I loved growing up, and I think he would make a handsome decoration on the hearth.
Things I Love Thursday, Volume 3!!! This week I’m focusing on hand dyed and/or hand spun yarns~ I love the variety of yarns you can find on Etsy these days. I know I have spent hours and hours virtual window shopping… Allow me to enable you all to do the same ;)
‘The Final Problem' - A Sherlock Holmes inspired sock yarn. I love the soft colors and subtle sparkle! I'm a big fan of BBC's new(ish) Sherlock TV series, and I think this color way fits Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock quite well- pale and a bit alienesque.
‘Handspun Yarn merino w/ Glass Beads' - A gorgeous thick-and-thin yarn with matching glass beads. Purple is one of my favorite colors, and I adore the variety of shades in this skein.
‘English Tea Rose' - Another thick-thin yarn, in a perfectly girlish, yet not-too-pink color. I really love it when spinners incorporated different items in with their yarns- those cute little roses are adorable! I think this would make a lovely little ascot!
‘Paint It Black' - A sock yarn in such a mysterious color! The listing says 'shades of dark gray and black', but I'm definitely seeing a bit of plum-red in there… Perhaps it's just me! Either way, I think its wonderful!
Now, I just have to practice with my spindle more, so I can also make beautiful yarns! ♥
Another Things I Love Thursday! Volume II! This week I’ve chosen things from fellow Tumblr knitters! Take a moment to go and check out their Tumblrs, full of amazing things~

I meant to post this yesterday, as a Things I Love Thursday, but I got caught up in sewing and totally forgot. Oops! So I guess it’ll be a Things I Love This Week ;)
miss-katie’s Dressing Gown of Dreams - What a magnificent robe! I love the soft lavender color, but really it all about that wonderful, draped collar and dramatic hem. I’m not sure I’ll ever have the patience to knit something like this, but I do feel inspired to sew something similar!
Christiane Klink’s Victoria Fine Lace Stole - A simply stunning lace stole that I have been obsessing over for weeks. This looks like a dream, and I’m certain it feels like it as well! While my crochet skills are rather lacking, the border on this stole makes me want to practice more!
Also, I’ve started a Blogger version of The Ivy Forest, wheee~ I like being able to see all of my Ravelry projects on the sidebar!
