Working on Marg’s Mitts

Working on another test knit- some fingerless gloves with a really awesome stitch pattern. I thought they would be way too big for me, but they are only going to be slightly too big! Hooray! They are so cute and cozy though, I can’t wait to finish them, then start another pair!

Another Xmas gift to share… I revisited one of my favorite fingerless glove patterns, Spiral Staircase Mitts, using Malabrigo Rios in Pocion.

I wasn’t sure about the color initially- I didn’t know what color to choose for the recipient, and I am not really all that fond of blue, but this seemed like it would work out nicely… I’m glad I went with it- I really love it! I’ll definitely buy more of this color way…

Well, once I decide I can buy yarn again XD My stash is out of control, and really, I don’t need to buy more yarn. No buying yarn! Don’t do it, Jessica, just don’t… Unless it’s on sale, or being discontinued, just don’t buy the yarn for at least two months. I feel like two months is doable~ I guess we’ll see!

The great thing about gift knitting is that I’ll have lots of stuff to post ;)

These are some lovely and ever-so-soft finger gloves I knit for my husband ♥ The pattern is Vancouver Fog, an excellent and very customizable pattern. I love doing cables, and these did not disappoint!

For these, I decided to splurge, and used Madelinetosh Pashmina Worsted- absolutely amazing! I already enjoyed working this pattern, but the yarn seriously made this project a million times better. It’s a 75% Merino/15% Silk/10% Cashmere blend, and yeah, it is really fucking wonderful. I went with Dustbowl, since it’s a nice neutral-yet-interesting color.

I made my husband luxury mitts, and what did he get me? A fucking scooter! How can I possibly live up to something like that? XD Well, he is the best ♥ ♥ ♥

ALSO!!! Tin Can Knits is offering one free pattern to everyone! Just use the coupon code sharethelove after you add your choice to your cart :) I chose the Snowflake pullover!

Ahhh, I actually finished these mitts two weeks ago, but only just got around to photographing them today~ It’s been too warm, so I’m really looking forward to the weather cooling off so I can show these off!

I really love how they came out, so soft and squishy ♥ Malabrigo Worsted is easily one of my favorite yarns

Pattern is Spiral Staircase Mitts, my project is Raveled here.

I wanted to make some new fingerless mitts, but was less then impressed with the first mitt of the set. I kind of knew going in that the variegated yarn probably wouldn’t work too well with the cables, and honestly I think that if I had made the inside of the larger diamonds just plain reverse stockinette, they probably would have looked nicer.
Well, they can’t all be winners! I didn’t bother making a second (tired of cables right now),  so onto the next project~

A cute little set of mitts and a matching bow I made sometime last year. I found this yarn on Etsy, and while the colors aren’t something I normally go for, I just had to have it. So fun and cheerful and sweet, it kind of reminds me of Fruity Pebbles (a sugar cereal). I paired it with some black yarn to toughen it up a bit, and I love the result.
